Tennessee is full of fun things to do whether you’re single or taking your family along for the ride. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is ideal for adventure lovers, while the music scenes in Nashville and Memphis are unbeatable. If you’re looking for a weekend getaway in Tennessee, Nashville is the place to go. Music lovers can visit the Country Music Hall of Fame, The Johnny Cash Museum, or one of the hundreds of bars showing off local bands. If you’re bringing the kids along, you can also visit the Nashville Zoo, the Cheekwood Botanical Gardens and Museum of Art, or one of the many parks throughout the city.

Pack up your Nissan Murano with a picnic, and head over to Arrington Vineyards to enjoy the winery founded by country music star Kix Brooks. Arrington Vineyards supplies a stunning backdrop of rural Tennessee while you enjoy your picnic and wine tasting. You will find many other locals and tourists enjoying the wine and views. You can also enjoy the grounds, which include fire pits, swings, and a patio with live music on selected nights.

Snuggled inside the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains, Gatlinburg is a historic place to visit, or the start to an adventure into the mountain park. Pack up your Nissan XTerra with your camping gear and consider a road trip where you can pitch your tent at the campgrounds in Gatlinburg. You and your family will enjoy shopping or hiking during the day and seeing one of the many shows or just star gazing at night. Gatlinburg has something to appeal to the whole family, from stunning hikes to tasty restaurants.

Craighead Caverns

Craighead Caverns offers an interesting experience at the largest underground lake in the United States, The Lost Sea. The Sea is part of a string of caves where people can spend the day or take a tour. Guides can explain the exciting history of the Caverns, including their discovery, earlier use by the Cherokees and later for cockfights, and relevance to the Civil War. For the truly adventurous, overnight tours through the Caverns are also available.

Memphis

For a change from the country music scene in Nashville, head to Memphis, land of Elvis and the blues. If you enjoy museums, stop and see the National Civil Rights Museum or the Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum. While you’re in Memphis, you must try some of the famous BBQ, and of course, see a show with one of the many Elvis impersonators. And don’t forget to get your photo taken on Beale Street with Elvis’s statue.

Whether you want a romantic getaway or you’re ready to party, Tennessee offers options for every lifestyle and every mood. If you have the right car to take you there, nothing is stopping you from a fun roadtrip in Tennessee this weekend.
