2015 Nissan Pathfinder Exterior

Three Nissan models recently were voted as “Most Popular” by online automotive resource Edmunds. Many car shoppers rely on the website, which says it receives about 18 million visitors each month. Its employees test out all kinds of cars, from the least expensive subcompacts all the way to full-size luxury SUVs, analyzing them in just about every way practical. For a vehicle to make it on the “Most Popular” lists, it must be one of the top three models in its market segment to be considered by car shoppers who visited the site from January 1 to October 31 of last year. That means more people researched those models than their competitors, indicating that they truly have won the popularity contest. The Altima was included in the highly competitive midsize car segment. Making an appearance for compact trucks was the Nissan Frontier. Finally, the mighty Pathfinder was included in the midsize tradition SUV segment.

The Nissan Altima

Even though the midsize sedan portion of the car market is incredibly crowded and perhaps the most competitive area of the industry, the Nissan Altima is one of its shining stars. Most vehicle designs make people choose between on-road maneuverability and the comfort of the occupants. The Altima doesn’t require anyone to make that decision, delivering the kind of agility that makes drivers smile, plus a pleasant ride that will keep even the pickiest of passengers satisfied. Add to that the fact that the Altima achieves some impressive fuel economy, coupled with strong acceleration that’s useful for merging onto the freeway, and it’s no wonder car shoppers favor it over the competition. Plenty of modern car owners complain about the onboard electronics, but as the Edmunds reviewers pointed out, the Altima is quite user-friendly all around.

The Nissan Frontier

The Nissan Frontier packs plenty of rugged ability in a smaller package than full-size trucks, making it more practical to own. It also is a lot of fun to drive both on the road and off, which is unique for a pickup. The 4.0-liter V-6 engine kicks out 261 horsepower and 281 lb.-ft. of torque, making it feel downright sporty. With the V-6 engine, the truck can also tow up to 6,300 pounds, when properly equipped. The bed contains a highly durable liner that can take an incredible amount of abuse, giving owners a practical way to haul just about anything. For those who need even more all-terrain ability, the Desert Runner comes with Bilstein performance shocks made for off-roading, plus mud- and snow-rated all-terrain tires.

The Nissan Pathfinder

When you need to transport as many as seven people at a time, there aren’t as many choices in the market as you might hope. Even worse is the fact that many three-row SUVs have small interiors, making them anything but comfortable. With the Pathfinder it’s different since everyone enjoys plenty of space and an interior that’s downright plush. The available electronics list is impressive, including the Around View Monitor that gives the driver a top-down view of the vehicle and its surroundings to make parking and squeezing through tight spots much easier. Greater comfort also comes from the optional heated steering wheel and heated/cooled seats. Many families are concerned with safety, which also makes the Pathfinder a great fit with a huge array of systems designed to keep everyone safe, like the Easy-Fill Tire Alert that beeps the horn when each tire is filled to the correct pressure.
