The Guinness Book of World Records is full of crazy stunts as well as amazing feats of human endeavor from the fastest to the slowest, the tallest to the shortest, and many more. All of these are more than worthy of their spot in this annual book, but if you were to look for the slowest and perhaps most impressive record you are ever likely to see, it might just be watching a Nissan Juke coming up the driveway at the Goodwood Race Track.

Up on Two Wheels

First off let us say that no one in his or her right minds, especially our customers should ever try this at home. The driver Terry Grant is a professional stunt driver with many years of experience under his belt and knows exactly what he is doing. So what did Terry Grant do? He took a brand new Nissan Juke NISMO RS out for a spin and came back into view as he gently lifted the driver’s side front and rear wheels up off the ground by using a ramp located just after the beginning part of the hill climb.

During his drive up the hill, Grant can be seen making a number of very sharp turns as he weaves his way up the hill. However, you shouldn’t be surprised to see the Juke bobbing and weaving in this manner as this is what it takes to keep a Juke up on two wheels. By the time he was done, Grant had succeeding in setting a new world record for driving a four wheeled vehicle on two wheels while driving it up a hill.

What Driver Terry Grant has to Say

Not only did he set a new slow paced record, he managed to carve off another 45 seconds from his previous attempt at the same run. According to Grant the Guinness World Record is for the fastest time to drive uphill on two wheels over a course of one mile long. He said, “I hit the ramp and literally in the first ten foot I nearly threw the car on its roof. Almost destroyed the whole run but managed to save it.”

He went on to talk about the fact there is a divot in the track that nearly caused him to lose it again, but managed to maintain control by keeping himself settled throughout the run. “When I started heading towards the finish line fatigue started creeping in. I had to hold myself in the car and all of a sudden I started to get the shakes in my left arm where I was holding so tight to save falling out the window and it was kind of going and going and all of a sudden I got a massive wobble coming up towards the finish line …and I really had to concentrate.. and I kind of just sort of evened it out and saw the finish line. I was like woot I’ve done it, I’m safe, I haven’t killed the car.

“I absolutely smashed the record at 2 minutes 10 seconds that is 45 seconds of the Guinness record I set here four years ago.” Grant says that the Juke NISMO RS is a much better car than he had the last time and referred to it as being “Mega”. It took him six attempts over the weekend and “sprinkled a little Terry Grant magic over the car” before he got started.

While you should never attempt a stunt like this at home, this new World Record just goes to show how versatile and well designed the 2015 Nissan Juke NISMO RS truly is.
