Get Excited for these New Features in the Nissan Titan XD

The long wait is over, and the new 2016 Nissan Titan XD is finally here. For those of us who have seen and driven it, we have to say this highly-anticipated update to the full-size Nissan pickup is everything we thought it would be. This new Titan XD is completely redesigned from the ground up, using a beefier ladder frame, and re-engineered suspension. But what may be most exciting about this new version of the Nissan full-size is the Cummins Diesel engine that powers it. So, with all of the new features, let’s take a closer look at some of the more interesting ones.

A New 5.0-liter Cummins Diesel

The power and efficiency of Cummins diesel engines is legendary, and now the new Nissan Titan XD is available with one of the most powerful and efficient engines in the category. The new 5.0-liter V8 turbo diesel puts out 310-horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated to a 6-speed Aisin automatic, and has a final drive ratio of 3.916:1.

Beefier Towing Capacity

Along with its more powerful engine, the Titan XD has some of the best towing and hauling numbers of any truck in its class. With a hauling capacity of up to 2,091 pounds and towing rated at up to 12,314 pounds, the Nissan Titan XD is nearly on a par with other truck makers’ heavy-duty ¾ ton models.

New Cargo Bed Features

Let’s face it, we like trucks because we can haul stuff with them. The folks at Nissan know that too, which is why they outfitted the Titan XD with the Utili-track® Channel System with four tie-down cleats, along with a frame-integrated gooseneck hitch and some really convenient LED bed lighting. Titan bed storage boxes are also a feature available on many trim levels, and are standard on the Titan XD Platinum.

Technology Features

Technology features abound in the new Titan XD, including Nissan Connect® with Navigation in some models, along with Around View® Monitor, voice recognition, Siri® Eyes-free, remote engine start with Intelligent Climate Control and more. There are also a wealth of safety features included which make this Nissan Titan the most technologically advanced version ever.

Interior Features

The cabin of the new Titan XD is neatly laid out and extremely comfortable. However, in the upper trim levels it gets downright extravagant. No, you’re not sitting in a luxury sport sedan; this is the new Titan XD, with premium two-tone leather seating, driver’s position memory, and more wood trim than your favorite steak house. And that’s just to start. Every comfort feature you could imagine is either included or available as an option on the new Titan.

Exterior Features

The Titan XD is also redesigned on the outside for 2016. With taller side walls, grill and bed rails, it looks the part of a heavy-duty work truck. But there are details that let you know this truck has been designed for more than just hitting the jobsite. Power-extending and heated towing mirrors, polished dark-chrome trim, chiseled front and rear fenders and a lighted running board are just some of the details you’ll find.
