Nissa Versa Great Value

In a recent survey of low cost cars in the U.S. conducted by 24/7 Wall Street, the Nissan Versa topped the list of the “10 Cheapest Cars in America.” This study found that the Versa is the lowest priced compact car in its class. The Versa underwent a complete design overhaul for the 2012 model year, completed to help improve its already outstanding fuel economy rating. When equipped with a manual gearbox, the Versa manages an exceptional EPA fuel economy rating of 27/36 mpg, which is well above average for its class.

It Takes More than Great Fuel Economy

While above average fuel economy may be one of the more important reasons why so many people turn to compacts and sub-compacts, it takes more than this to keep them coming back to buy these small cars. For example, despite being a compact car, the Versa has a lot to offer in the area of interior space.

Even taller passengers will find that the back seat, typically a sore point in compacts, offers more than enough head and leg room to remain comfortable on longer trips. Those who like to carry a lot on trips or go on large shopping trips will also find that this desire for space is continued on into the trunk. Here you will find plenty of room for your vacation luggage or that trip to the discount warehouse club. These features alone have attracted thousands of buyers so far.

Technology in Abundance

If you look at the average base model compact, you get very little in the way of technology. If you are lucky you get a basic AM/FM stereo and air conditioning. While the Versa does come with a 2 speaker audio system, it also features an auxiliary input jack and full Bluetooth phone connectivity. You also get a CD player and steering wheel mounted controls for added convenience and safety.

When you step up to the SV trim level, your Versa will come with a full set of power accessories including windows, locks, and mirrors. It also features keyless entry, a 60/40 folding rear seat, and an interior trunk release. The driver’s seat is height adjustable for added comfort and the interior features upgraded upholstery. All of this along with iPod and auxiliary audio input jacks comes at a price lower than most entry level models in this class.

Performance

No one wants to buy a sub-compact that while it gets great gas mileage suffers in the area of performance. Equipped with a stouthearted 1.6 liter, 109 hp four cylinder engine, the Versa manages 0 to 60 mph in only 10.4 seconds, which is above average for vehicles in its class. Base models come standard with a five-speed manual gearbox or an optional four speed automatic, all other trim levels feature the Nissan CVT (continuously variable transmission).

When equipped with the CVT, the Versa gets an EPA estimated combined fuel economy rating of 35 mpg, which equates to 31 city and 41 out on the highway. Those equipped with the five speed manual gearbox or the four speed automatic earn a combined rating of 30 mpg. All of these fuel economy ratings are considered to be above average for their class, and more importantly owners say the Versa is one of the most enjoyable and fun cars in its class to drive.

No matter how you look at it the Nissan Versa has a lot to offer buyers who are looking for an inexpensive car that offers a lot of value for your money. Stop by our dealership and learn more about this value packed car!
