If you’re in the market for a new vehicle and have your eyes set on a pickup truck, your next step is to decide on a trim level or configuration. For example, there are two types of Nissan trucks, and they come in two different cab styles. Let’s take a look at the Nissan King cab vs. Crew cab configurations in both models.

Nissan Frontier

The Nissan Frontier seats four passengers in its King Cab configuration and five in the Crew cab configuration. Though there’s ample space in both, you will definitely want to go with the Crew cab if adults will regularly need to ride in the back.

The advantage to the King cab is that it will give you a bigger bed: six-foot-one-inch, compared to the Crew cab’s five-foot bed. However, if you go with the Nissan Frontier SV trim and opt for the Crew cab, you can get a bigger bed as well. As for towing capability, the King cab will let you tow up to 6,270 pounds, while the Crew cab offers a towing capacity of 6,500 pounds. The maximum payload is the same for both: 1,460 pounds.

Nissan Titan

Both the Nissan Titan King cab and Crew cab models can fit five or six people, depending on which trim you go with. The Crew cab, however, offers more legroom in the rear seats. It also comes with conventional full-size doors in the back.

Like with the Nissan Frontier, the King cab in the Nissan Titan gives you the bigger bed: six feet, seven inches. With the Crew cab, you will get a five-foot-seven-inch bed. The good news is that you can get the Crew cabin and the King bed together in the Nissan Titan XD. Both Nissan Titan cabs have the same towing and hauling capability: 9,370 pounds and 1,680 pounds, respectively. Those increase to 10,880 pounds and 2,450 pounds with the Nissan Titan XD.
